Bumped* by Megan McCafferty is a super quick read and follows along in the genre I typically enjoy the most …a dystopian future.
Jeff & I have been trying to incorporate more slow moving daily activity into our lives so we’ve been walking from our house to the downtown area in our neighborhood to work at the local coffee shop. Roundtrip it’s about five miles, plus or minus, depending on the the route we take.
When we came home from one of our “downtown days”, I accomplished even more around the house. After making dinner we sat down to watch an episode of How To Get Away With Murder and afterward, I fell asleep on the couch.
I woke up a couple hours later and Jeff was getting ready to go to bed. It’s not so easy for me to bounce back from a restful nap and head right to bed, although it used to be, but I tried anyway.
After I got ready to go to sleep, I laid down in bed and just couldn’t do it. So I looked at my Goodreads list to see what I had next on my to-read list.
A New Megan McCafferty Series
When I was working at the library, which feels like ages ago now, it was around the same time the Jessica Darling series came out. I was obsessed with Megan McCafferty’s series and couldn’t wait for each new release.
When I was scrolling thru Goodreads one day, Megan McCafferty’s new series caught my eye so I added it to my list.
On this night of restlessness I downloaded Bumped and read it straight through, cover to cover! And I even got a few more hours of sleep once I finished reading, before I woke up to start the day.
A Bit About Bumped
Bumped is another story that takes place in the future. A virus makes everyone over the age of eighteen infertile, adults who want to be parents pay teen girls to conceive and give birth to their children, making teens the most prized members of society.
Bumped follows the story of what happens with twin sisters Melody & Harmony, who were separated at birth. The two have followed vastly different lives so far, although a case of mistaken identity takes them on a journey neither could have imagined. Through this first book in the series, Melody and Harmony realize how much they really have in common.
