Eating real food doesn’t have to be hard but it can be intimidating for people who are new to cooking or not familiar with picking up unknown ingredients at the store.
In an effort to help you get in the kitchen and try something new I’m starting a once a month, seasonal cooking challenge!
Here’s how you can join along for the month of August.
How The Challenge Works
For every day in August, I’m providing you a single ingredient as inspiration. The challenge is for you to create a homemade meal from scratch with that ingredient as the focal point. You have free reign for what you’d like to create, but you must use the ingredient of the day for each dish.
How Is This A Seasonal Challenge?
You’ll notice that all of the ingredients I’ve chose for this first challenge are not all necessarily seasonal. I’ve done that on purpose. The first few ingredients and sporadically throughout the month I’ve chosen year round fruits and vegetables as inspiration between seasonal produce so that if you don’t have time to hit up the grocery store, farmer’s market or the produce doesn’t come in your CSA box, you can always play along with the challenge on the days when year round products are the ingredient of the day.
What’s The Point?
One reason why I continue to share recipes on Paleo Porn is because I want to teach people that cooking your next meal is not as hard as you may think. That being in the kitchen can be fun and my hope for this challenge is to introduce you to some new ingredients and get you motivated to jump in the kitchen and experiment.
