The following is a guest post by Lynette Geris, who is the creator of Paleodorant and the Cave Necessities line of personal care products. She’s also the founder of the Health by Habits Project where she works to bring health education and awareness to Chicago.
Although I’ve never personally used the 100% pure product line, I trust Lynette’s judgement and recommendations which is why I’ve asked her to review their all natural mascara. Take it away, Lynette!

Who wouldn’t love BLUE mascara? Especially if it has all natural ingredients and won’t cause any harm to your body?
This company, 100% Pure, advertises this product as:

- 100% natural
- 100% vegetarian
- Colored with black tea and berry pigments
- Lengthens, separates, thickens and glosses lashes
- Water and smudge resistant
- Suitable for sensitive eyes
100% Pure offers four different fruit pigmented mascara colors: black tea, blackberry, dark chocolate and blueberry. For this review specifically, we are going to review the blueberry all natural mascara.
Pros of 100% Pure Mascara
I LOVE the smell! This mascara literally smells like a blueberry field; it’s wonderful!
Not to mention the color: the BLUE tint gives any eyes a unique look that will make everyone do a double take.
And of course, the fact that this makeup is made of all natural sources, is eco-friendly and healthy for my skin, obviously earns brownies points for this particular review.
Cons of 100% Pure Mascara
The only negative I can pick out for this mascara is that while it does indeed lengthen, separate, and thicken my eye lashes like advertised, I honestly have experienced other mascaras adding more length and thickness than this one. Still, none of those others are 100% natural, smell amazing, and are BLUE!
A Look At The Ingredients
There are a total of 23 ingredients, mostly consisting of tea and fruit extracts, vitamins, natural waxes and natural powders.
Right off the bat, I can see no ingredients from my Red Flag List. This is a good sign!
For more reasons why ingredients like parabens should be avoided, see my Red Flag List on the Paleo Personal Care page to read more.
