I prepared this dish on New Years Eve for Jeff & I. It was a special night, just the two of us, and our Paleo turkey legs. :)
If you’re looking for the perfect meat-and-veggies combo…this is it!
The white sweet potatoes paired with the apples and turkey legs give this dish a wonderful rustic feel. Better than the turkey legs you get at the renaissance fair or Milwaukee’s Summerfest!
Jeff & I would look forward to summer every year but for more than just the sun and heat. We loved driving up to Milwaukee for the day as we listened to our favorite bands perform live while chowing down on turkey legs and Saz’s sour cream and chive fries…but I’ll just leave that part out. ;)

Summerfest is actually where Jeff proposed during a Skillet show, so turkey legs may have more meaning for us than for you. ;)
The Old World Seasoning used in this recipe enhances the rustic feel, but it’s not necessary if you don’t have it.
If you don’t happen to have Old World Seasoning, don’t sweat it. You can get a flavor that’s just as good by adding salt, pepper, and whatever spices you happen to have on hand. Get creative! :)
Thanks to the Paleo lifestyle, you don’t even have to remove the skin! You can enjoy every bit of fatty deliciousness guilt-free.
Just because you cook some veggies with the meat, doesn’t mean you should stop there. Feel free to make your own salad as a side dish or starter, or use any of our side dishes to go with your turkey legs. They’re easy to prepare while the meat is in the oven.
And if you happen to have leftovers, you can tear the meat from the bone and serve it cold topped on a salad for breakfast or lunch the next day!
