Apricots are plants that can be eaten in moderation as part of a Paleo-friendly lifestyle. As with most fruit, apricots can be very sweet and so you might want to limit or avoid them, depending on your tolerance of sugar, or if you’re on a sugar detox. But if you’re craving carbohydrates, an apricot can be a great way to appease that craving without resorting to candy bars.
Dried apricots in particular can be a great option, as they are very high in fiber. Lots of fiber means that the sugar enters your blood stream more slowly, preventing a sugar rush, which would then be followed by a crash.
Apricots are also nutrient dense and are a great source of potassium, phosphorous, magnesium, and vitamin C, among other micronutrients. Mark Sisson has an excellent post on bad carbs vs. good carbs (including fruit) on his blog, which you can access here.
