Capers come from a plant and so they can be eaten as part of a Paleo diet with impunity. When we eat capers, we’re usually eating the flower bud, which has been pickled for preservation. These little buds can be used as a garnish or seasoning in salad or with meat or fish. Adding them to an appetizer or a main course can help give the dish a Mediterranean flair.
Although small, these little plant edibles pack quite the nutritional punch. They are loaded with protein, vitamin C, iron, and sodium.
