Fruit is one of those contentious items on the Paleo food list. Although the Paleo diet should be full of nutritious plants, many people choose to eliminate fruits as a result of their high sugar content. Such strict carbohydrate restriction works really well for some people, but others do better with a slightly higher carbohydrate content in their diet. The only way to know for sure what works best for you, personally, is to play around with your macronutrients and see how you feel. Paleo and Nutrient Dense Foods

Mangoes are an especially sweet fruit, but that’s not all they have to offer. They are also full of carotenoids (which our bodies convert into vitamin A), various B vitamins, and they come loaded with vitamin C. They are also an excellent source for trace metals like potassium and magnesium.

Even better than that, is the fact that mangoes are rich in polyphenols and phytochemicals. These are antioxidants that are designed to protect the plant, but coincidentally, can also help us when we eat the plant. A diet that’s rich in phytochemicals and polyphenols can help us maintain a healthy immune system, and may even have some anti-cancer properties.
