Radishes are a root vegetable that can absolutely be included as part of a Paleo lifestyle. They do contain significantly more carbs than fat or protein, but they are also rich in nutrients such as vitamin C, various B vitamins, and potassium.
Eating the Whole Plant
You don’t have to limit yourself to eating the bulbs, though. Just like we tell you to eat the whole animal, you should also eat as much of these plants as you can. The tops of radishes can also be tossed in your salad or added to a smoothie for an extra helping of leafy greens. Mark Sisson strongly recommends that we include the leafy tops of root vegetables in our diet.
