Onions are very high in sulfur, and according to Dr. Terry Wahls, we should all be sure to eat lots of sulfur-rich vegetables every day. Sulfur doesn’t get a lot of attention, but there are studies that support her claim to the importance of sulfur. Most notably, studies on onions and garlic have shown that they may contain significant anti-cancer properties and help manage glucose tolerance (source).

The Myth of Paleo and Vegetables
So be sure to add plenty of onions and garlic to your soups, stews, stir-fries, and salad, and correct anyone who tries to tell you that a Paleo diet is devoid of vegetables.
