Part of living a Paleo lifestyle involves eating animals, but we tend to be pickier than that. Rather than just eating a pound of ground beef every day, we recommend that you diversify your animal foods whenever possible.
Eat the Whole Animal
In particular, we strongly urge you to eat the entire animal, including organs and bones because these are the most nutritious parts of the animal. Likewise, if you have an opportunity to eat a whole animal in one bite, that’s really your best bet.
The Nutritional Content of Eating Sardines
Enter sardines! Not only are these little fish a great source of protein and Omega 3 fats, but they are also chock full of B vitamins, vitamin D, calcium, iron, selenium, phosphorous, and potassium. We need all of these nutrients to help us grow up big and strong. They help build and maintain strong bones and teeth, a healthy immune system, and B vitamins in particular help keep our nervous system and our metabolism functioning properly.
Our favorite brand of sardines are Wild Planet because they’re wild caught, sustainably sourced. They have no BPA in the lining of the cans and are non-GMO certified.
