Fish Are Animals Too
Those of us trying to live a Paleo lifestyle should always be sure eat plenty of plants and animals, and that includes seafood. Adding seafood into your diet is essential for getting numerous nutrients that are hard to get elsewhere, particularly selenium and iodine. These nutrients are necessary for proper hormone function and health in general. So grab a big ol’ fish for dinner and know that you’ll be getting one nutritious meal.
The Nutrient Content of Barramundi
Another big reason to eat fish is for the anti-inflammatory omega-3 fats it provides, but barramundi are low in fat overall, including omega-3. It still has plenty of nutrients, and if you like white fish you should feel free to try barramundi, if you haven’t already. If you can’t find it or afford it, don’t worry about it. You’ll probably be better off with salmon or some shellfish. Just be sure to get some seafood in your diet one way or another.
Mark Sisson included barramundi on his guide to farmed seafood.
