The Salt Muth
Despite the myth that salt is at the root of a number of health disorders, such as hypertension, science has recently debunked that myth. Salt has gotten a bad name because of it’s connection to fast foods. Any time you eat out or buy pre-made foods, you’re getting tons of salt, but you’re also getting plenty of sugar and unknown chemical additives. When we consider all the variables, it seems the decision to blame salt was pretty arbitrary.
The Health Benefits
Chipotle powder is just chipotle peppers that have been dried and ground into a powder. It can be a great way to add some heat to your dish without braving the whole chipotle pepper. Although the powder doesn’t have all the vitamins and minerals of the fresh pepper, it still has a number of health benefits to offer. The capsaicin that give the pepper its heat, for example, is a powerful anti-inflammatory and may even be able to help prevent cancer.
