Cream is the fat skimmed off the top of milk, which means, if you’re sensitive to the carbohydrates in milk, cream could be a better option for you.
The Nutritional Content of Cream
Because it comes from milk, cream contains all the same nutrients that as milk, but with more fat. This is excellent because many of the vitamins contained in dairy are fat-soluble, which means our bodies can’t access those nutrients without the help of fat. Vitamins A, D, E, and K are just some of the fat-soluble vitamins found in dairy. They are also essential for maintaining healthy bones and teeth, which means consuming low-fat or fat-free dairy doesn’t help those with osteoporosis as much the FDA would have you believe.
Mark Sisson lists cream as one of the better forms of dairy to consume.
