Salt as a Misunderstood Seasoning
Despite the bad rap that salt has gotten in the media, it’s actually an excellent source of minerals, especially if you use high-quality sea salt. The misconception that it causes high blood pressure comes from the prevalence of processed food, which contains much more salt than anyone is likely to add to their home-cooked meal. Since we recommend staying away from processed foods as much as possible, adding salt to the food you cook at home should be far from harmful. In fact, it will help keep your sodium levels balanced with your potassium levels.
