An Under-Appreciated Bird
Pheasant is a type of bird, and all birds can be included as part of a healthy Paleo lifestyle. Despite the fact that it used to be widely hunted, the Standard American Diet (SAD) has largely moved away from pheasant, but you can still find it on some farms and online stores.
Pheasant is much like chicken, only smaller and even leaner. For that reason, it is necessary to cook it properly to make sure it doesn’t become too dry. Slow cooking is always a good option, as is adding other forms of fat to your bird, such as bacon or butter.
