New to Paleo Porn? Over the years this site has grown quite a bit so whether you’re a paleo beginner or just a Paleo Porn virgin this is the place you’ll want to start.
First off, let’s get one thing out of the way. I know exactly what you’re thinking and you can stop wondering right now.
Paleo Porn is food porn, not porn porn.
Ok, now that that’s out of the way allow me to introduce myself. I’m Jeff and that’s me with my wife Marla. Marla’s the one who’s brilliant in the kitchen, I’m the one who eats like a king. I’m also the tech guy, photographer, filmmaker, and all around doer of things here at Paleo Porn.
Start Here: Recipes, Connect, Our Cookbook
Join the Paleo Porn Family (over 10,000 members!) and receive 3 new paleo recipes via email every Friday. Along with new recipes Family Members receive Family Exclusives and an all-access pass to all things Paleo Porn. Oh and don’t worry, spam is not paleo.
Connect via Social Media
In January 2015 we published the Second Edition of Pigskin Paleo. If it isn’t immediately apparent we’re big football fans and diehard Bears fans. So we hope you love Pigskin as much as we do, but also that you’re not a Packers fan. Go Bears! ;)
- Learn about the history of Paleo Porn and get to know Marla and Jeff (hey, that’s me!).
- Peruse our massive archive of paleo recipes.
- Are you new to paleo or just confused on whether a particular food is paleo-friendly or not? Play with our free Is It Paleo? web app to find answers to all of your most pressing questions, like Is Quinoa Paleo?
- Have a look at our recommended resources page to find where to properly source grass-fed and pasture-raised meats, paleo-friendly snacks, and paleo-friendly products – everything that Marla and I use on a daily basis.
- Find a paleo-friendly restaurant in your neck of the woods. Have a recommendation? Let us know!
- Despite our best efforts in the food department it’s possible to still be exposed to a plethora of chemicals every day. This is where our paleo-friendly personal care product reviews come in handy.
- Marla loves Young Adult fiction so if that’s your cup of tea have a look at the recommended fiction page. But if you’re like me and non-fiction is your thing have a look at the recommended reading page.
NOTE: We do not accept paid reviews of any kind. I know a lot of bloggers earn a bit extra cash from paid reviews and advertisements, but to be honest that’s always seemed gross to us. We only promote products and services that we wholeheartedly believe in and use ourselves – or, in the case of restaurants, establishments that we frequent. We do at times use affiliate links on our site, which may earn us a few cents here and there at no additional cost to you, but integrity is far more important to us than payment for promoting products we don’t wholeheartedly believe in.
Paleo Porn TV
I’ve wanted to be a filmmaker for years, but never felt like I had the approval of some unknown authority to do so.
It took a while to realize there is no gatekeeper. No one who we need approval from. We can pursue whatever we want.
Now I produce little movies for our YouTube channel. The proper episodes that we film, the ones that are closer to a TV program, are called Paleo Porn TV. But I’m constantly experimenting with different shows. We’ve even recorded some live recipes on Periscope.
But if you really want to get to know us follow along with our daily-ish VLOG. They’re the most raw, true to our life videos that we produce.
Beyond Food, The Paleo Lifestyle
Although Paleo Porn is jam-packed with tasty food, there is so much more to paleo and all around better health. This is why we refer to paleo as a lifestyle more so than a diet.
One aspect of a healthy lifestyle that I’ve been very intrigued by over the years is sleep. I’ve given several talks, some quite at length, on the topic and have written a deep dive that I’m constantly expanding and updating as I experiment further and new information comes to light. For a look at diagnosing and perfecting your sleep read Hacking Sleep.
For Food Bloggers
When we’re not focusing on health and wellness we run a branding agency known as SPYR where we help fellow entrepreneurs develop their brands and launch their businesses. Over the years we’ve helped hundreds of entrepreneurs start their blogs so we’ve seen it all. Below are the products and services that we wholeheartedly recommend for anyone starting a food blog. Note: If you purchase through some of the following links we will earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. Thank you for supporting Paleo Porn!
Starting a Food Blog – Hosting
Hosting is the very first thing you need when starting your site. Over the years we’ve worked with all the big names in the hosting industry and we love the folks at Bluehost. Not only do they provide a top-notch service, but we had the opportunity to visit their headquarters in Utah this past Summer and we hit it off right away. We highly recommend them. For more on starting your blog with Bluehost read our article here.
Designing Your Site
Every site that we build for ourselves and our clients is built upon WordPress and the Genesis Framework. I could explain why Genesis is the best way to start your blog, but they’ve already done that for me in their article: Why Genesis is the Foundation of Any Smart WordPress Design.
StudioPress has a wide variety of great themes that will fit your needs perfectly, many love the Foodie Theme, but we’re partial to the one that we created, the tru Theme – you may recognize tru as the theme of The Minimalists. For even more theme options check out our Genesis Theme Marketplace, BYLT.
So that was a whole lot of Paleo Porn, but you made it all the way down to the bottom! Do you have any other questions that haven’t been answered here? Feel free to contact us.
We hope to meet you soon!
