Every month our local library mails out a physical newsletter with news about upcoming events, recently released fiction and nonfiction books along with recommendations for different age ranges of children, adolescents, teens and adults.
In the most recent newsletter the cover of this book, The Ocean at the End of the Lane* by Neil Gaiman, caught my eye. In the newsletter it was mentioned as being the October book discussion book. I’ve never attended a book discussion at our library but I was interested in checking out this book so I placed it on hold and I was notified before we left for California that it had arrived. A day prior to leaving Jeff & I stopped at the library and picked up the book, along with a couple others, and I read it in a couple sittings while on the beach in Santa Monica.
This book is different from typical books I pick up. First of all, it’s short. The sentences are formed in the same manner. The story is a flashback of sorts although the entire book pretty much takes place in the past. If you’re a fan of the supernatural you may find this one enjoyable.
